SB 467 -- CRIME VICTIMS' COMPENSATION FUND

SPONSOR:  Bartle (Mayer)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Crime Prevention and Public Safety by a vote of 17 to 0.

This bill increases the surcharge assessed in criminal cases for
the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund from $5 to $7.50.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill merely corrects an
inconsistency within the statutes.  A bill enacted last year
increased this surcharge to $7.50, but the section was mistakenly
omitted from the bill.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Bartle.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
